I'm quitting, for good today
06:18pm 05/12/2006
OK. I need a break. For about a month or so, then I might return to normal working society. When I do I want a constrution job, or something else that is "hard work." I am getting sick of staring at a computer screen all day for 8 hours doing nothing. This may sound good to some, but trust me -- after 2 and half years of it it's just time to move on. Or maybe I'll do birthday parties ;)

I've tried this before -- didn't show up for 3 days and then my boss called me on that Sunday and asked if I could come in. I think this time I'm going to have Mike call them and tell them I died.

OK, people -- what should I have died from? I need suggestions.

MY FIRST LJ POST EVER!

music: OH GOD.... THE RINGING!!!
OK. I've had this thing for like.... 2 years and never posted to it, but due to my incredible overabundance of time in work and my sudden desire to conform to the masses I've decided to start.

meh....   I guess the only semi-interesting that happened recently was yesterday while I was driving in Clearwater with Towyn.  He made it a point to tell me I have to stop for the pedestrians in the crosswalks. I didn't agree with the phrase "have to" but he demanded it's illegal not to stop for them and, again, that I "have to" do it.

Well, I toyed with this for a bit and found it possible to do. If the people start to cross expecting you to stop, all you need to do is give a bit of gas -- 2 tons of Caddy accelerating toward them seems to let them know you would like to proceed without interruption. I learned this first with a group of parents and their kids, and then later on with some old guy who was already crossing the street. Worked like a charm, however right after I passed the old guy, a cruiser pulled out of a hidden driveway and got behind me. I knew what was going to happen next, which sucked because I had a few beers -- not drunk but possibly over the legal limit. So the cruiser puts his lights on right when I head toward the rotary, and as I drive in a nonchalant manner hoping for the best he pulls SOMEONE ELSE over.

What the fuck?  What could someone else have possibly done worse than trying to drive over old people?

Well, I took 60 straight back to Tampa -- Towyn wanted to go to some arcade thing but I wanted to get the fuck out of Clearwater (and arcades aren't really my thing). We headed back to my place and watched Evil Bong.
